Day 4: Studio!

Ahh, yes, finally finished!
Before:

I am so happy with my new space! It took only an idea, some creativity, a layer of paint, and one week to accomplish it.
First, I had to empty the room. It was a disaster to say the least. Two days were spent on removing everything.
Next, I had to find paint. The room originally had a yellow/creamy colored wall, ceiling, and rug. It was a boring flow of colors. I knew that I wanted for it to stay bright, and I didn't want to do so much that it took away my time from other projects.
And I am on a strict budget!
So I went to the garage. We have about 1,000 different cans of paint, all of which are different colors and less than half full. Joy.
After looking for awhile, I discovered that apparently our favorite colors are yellow and cream. Exactly NOT what I am looking for.
Finally, I found a white-white that was half-full. With that color, I painted the trim and the door. This dramatically cleaned the room up. It just looked fresher. Next I had to find a color for the ceiling. I found a light blue/gray color but only had about a quarter of a gallon.
Problem solved: Mix the rest of the white with that blue!
The end result caused a great contrast in the room without drawing attention to itself.
Now for the wall color:
This was something that I did have to buy.
A perfect blue is what we decided on and it totally changed the room.
Room=Painted
Next on the list was on what to bring into the room. We already had a beautiful dark desk in the room,(which was in the White House at one point I think! How cool!)
We had a very old chair and mirror which we decided to use as our Pinterest projects! Who doesn't love Pinterest?!
This is before:

And this is after:

We brought in an old table that we found and some bookshelves.
One more Pinterest project completed this room:

Day 3: Paint Wars

Breakfast: boiled egg, pineapple, grapes, bread.
This breakfast was delicious and had me feeling full for a long time. It also put me in a good mood! Deffinately a keeper.
But breakfast will not be the point of this blog again, I promise!
This is about paint. Paint paint paint.

My studio is coming along, slowly but surely! I have painted the trim white-white. I love how clean it makes everything look. I am also trying to use the paint that we already have from other projects so that I can save some money(budget!!!). We had a tiny bit of white and a tiny bit of light blue so I mixed them! They had to be the same brand and type of paint or they wouln't have mixed right. But it turned out perfect. With this color, I painted my ceiling and one wall. It seems more like a silver-blue more than light blue, but it still looks great!
So I had to decide on what color I wanted for the other walls.
I walked around Lowes with the paint stirrer that I had used to mix the paints so that I knew exactly what would match(: I was torn between green and blue. Both colors are beautiful and I couldn't decide. I think that I had 6 different color swatches at a time trying to choose!
I had absolutley no idea what I wanted so I let my mom suprise me. Blue!
While I was there, I picked out a color swatch that would stand out in the room. Apricot/Coral. I am planning on painting old bookshelves and a dresser to give the room more color. Tomorrow will be paint day. Yay!

Refresh, Reuse, Repaint.
Love-M!

Day 2: Oatmeal

Breakfast needs to be something yummy. It is the first meal of the day so why should we ruin it? Breakfast gets our systems moving and when our systems are functioning, our bodies are happy. A lot of people thing that breakfast is a waste of time, and often substitute it with a multivitamin or one single grape. Nope, that is not breakfast. I am not a breakfast person, so it needs to be interesting if I am going to eat it. I find that it helps, if I have time, I like to be creative with it. If something sounds fun to make, I am more willing to actually eat it. I'm also a really picky person when I get up, I don't want something that is covered in sugar, like cereal or syrup. I want something healthy but very yummy.
This morning, I tried oatmeal. Oatmeal is not my favorite, but I don't think that I have a favorite breakfast food besides bacon and gravy, and both of which are not within my healthy guidelines of the moment.
So, oatmeal. It is plain....and boring. I think that we all agree that it could use a touch of sweetener. So just a little bit of honey will fix that. Now we have a little less boring oatmeal. But still pretty bland. Fruit. Fruit is the perfect breakfast add-in or add-on. Half of a chopped apple on the top adds fruit. Let's add cinnamon for flavor and a tiny tiny slice of butter for creaminess! YUMMY.
Oatmeal=Dominated
Eat healthy!
